Another recipe remembering India: naan, a very simple dough, rolled out like piadina, but baked enriched with sesame seeds. Finally seasoned with ghee (http://www.gustovegetariano.com/en/clarified-butter-ghee/). I find naan a very nice alternative to bread. Easy and fast to prepare, can be consumed warm as an appetizer or together with legumes and vegetables.
For those who are looking for a good alternative to cow’s milk or for those who want to make some lighter preparations, such as béchamel, crépes, pancakes … here is a vegetable drink with the right characteristics: do you remember almond milk? http://www.gustovegetariano.com/en/almond-drink/ Well … even the oat groats, after a few hours soaking, can be transformed, with a juice extractor, into an excellent drink.
Now you just have to choose the best way to use it 😉
I have already told you that in some part of the year, I have the habit to follow a gluten-free diet: corn and rice cakes are quite gratifying, as substituted of bread… I like the crunchy noise they make when you bite them. But I’m always looking for new recipes, made with gluten-free flours. This is a nice alternative to rice and corn cakes: crispy quinoa crackers with mixed seeds 🙂
A really enjoyable discovery: if you own a juice extractor you can make a very special almond drink.
Here is the simple and quick recipe to get a good alternative to milk. How do I prefer it more? Warmed up and enriched with bitter cocoa and brown sugar, or fresh and raw with a cup of crunchy mix.
Let me know if you like it 😉
